General Speeding concerns

This morning, a member of the public joined our Safer Neighbourhood Team as part of the West Mercia Police Ride‑Along Scheme.
They accompanied PC JOHNSON on patrol and took part in a roadside speed operation on Overton Road, Caynham and Knowbury, which are areas regularly highlighted by residents as a concern.

During the checks, six drivers were recorded travelling at 35mph or above, exceeding the 30mph limit. 

The Ride‑Along Scheme offers members of the public a chance to see first‑hand how local policing works and to get involved in community safety activity. We’re grateful to today’s participant for their time and interest in helping keep our roads safer.
Our team will continue to carry out targeted speed checks in response to community concerns.
